about

2014 has been a good year for me, musically, and i wanted to drop a tape just to celebrate it. i've made a lot of progress in the quality of my music and i've made a lot of friends who make music too.

i dropped my first real project in april -- sonder, a four song ep focusing more on the more ambient-style of hip hop / electonic music -- but this is my first long-form project; a 14 track beat tape, with tracks 1-6 being more sample oriented and tracks 8-13 being more 'trap' oriented, with interludes between the two. the idea of a 'side a' and 'side b' has always sat nicely with me and i wanted to incorporate it into this project.

shout out to /r/makinghiphop for the collab threads that put me on to people, the game of hip hop which forced me to work with people and figure shit out, and the people in the irc who entertain me while i work when i keep it open in the background.

shout out to young mike in particular for teaching me how to keep my life aquatic
